A bit about

I was born in Palo Alto, California in 1965. I grew up on the West coast of the U.S.A. Spending time in Denver Co, Oregon, and various parts of California. I always had an desire to paint and draw. My High School art teacher further fuelled this desire  by entering my work in local art shows. I moved to Laguna Beach California after graduating. That was where I would start my journey as a Scenic Artist. With determination I knocked on doors and apprenticed where I could. Starting with fine art, interiors, and hand painted textiles. Through the years I would continue to knock on doors and travel (my desire to learn and create never dying), that eventually lead me to Theatre and Film. It is Film (King Kong) that brought me to Wellington, New Zealand where I currently reside with my daughter.

Art and Design

In Southern California I apprenticed for artist studios and  designers in my late teens and early twenties. I have exhibited and sold various art works since. I have also studied and dabbled with textile/surface design in NY. All things I hope to revisit in my near future. Click button to view

Teaching and Writing

For nearly 9yrs now, I have been a guest Tutor to Design students at Toi Whakaari : New Zealand Drama School. I have loved every minute of it! And I am currently writing a book about the film industry, from a Scenic's view point.  The book includes interviews, tips, tales and techniques.
